SunBorne Energy

SunBorne is an early stage company developing utility scale concentrated solar thermal power plants in India along with proprietary technology innovations and local manufacturing/supply chain sourcing that would lead to disruptive reductions in cost per megawatt (MW) of generated power. The company is founded by Professor Yogi Goswami and Professor Elias Lee Stefanakos (professors and co-directors of the Clean Energy Center at the University of South Florida), Ram Chereddy and General Catalyst Partners. SunBorne will build a 50 MW demonstration solar thermal plant, followed by an extension of another 250 MW production capacity. In addition, the company will also project develop the capacity for up to 2 gigawatts (GW) of solar thermal power in select states of India.
