Kevin Laracey

Kevin Laracey has more than 20 years of experience building successful teams that identified new market opportunities, and developed technologies, products, and services to capitalize on those opportunities across a range of industries.  He joined Sigma as a Venture Partner in 2008, and has helped entrepreneurs turn innovative ideas into successful companies by leveraging his expertise and network.  Kevin has held a variety of operational roles in public and private companies including founder & CEO, software engineer, marketing executive, general manager, and fundraiser.  Prior to joining Sigma, Kevin was the Vice President and GM of Siebel Systems' Customer Self Service group, now part of Oracle.  He was also the founder and CEO of edocs, a leading provider of self service and online billing and payment solutions.  Under Kevin's leadership, edocs was a multi-year member of both the Inc. 500 and the Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 before it was sold for $145 million in 2005. Kevin has also held a variety of senior management & operational roles at Elixir Technologies and the Travelers Companies, and he currently serves on the board of advisors for Virtusa, a leading provider of consulting and outsourcing services.  Kevin has been a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and his experiences as an entrepreneur negotiating with investors are documented in the Harvard Business School case study "edocs, Inc. (A)".  He holds an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Business and a B.A. in American Studies and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame.
