Nick Lazares

Nick and a group of private investors acquired Admirals Bank in mid-2010 intending to capitalize on the seismic dislocation in the financial services industry. With fresh capital and new management in place, Admirals has been aggressively acquiring bank branches and loan portfolios while continuing to organically grow the banking business.

Prior to his CEO role at Admirals Bank, Nick was chairman and co-CEO of Boston-based Capital Crossing Bank (formerly Atlantic Bank & Trust) one of the best performing banks in the nation for over a decade. Capital Crossing was acquired by Lehman Brothers in 2007 for $210 million.

Nick is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT, with a degree in economics. He also earned a JD and an LLM in taxation from Boston University School of Law. Nick serves on the Deans Council at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the Board of Fellows at Trinity College.
