Tony got his first taste of travel as a youngster, exploring his own cultural roots in Japan and Italy. His 20-year career in the tech industry began at Apple, where he built the world’s first personal digital assistant. He went on to develop the first versions of many other now-ubiquitous systems, including a web-based calendar and large scale multi-player gaming systems that allow players to connect with each other all around the world. After years of building excellent online experiences, Tony is now looking forward to enhancing a platform whose purpose is to connect people offline.
Prior to joining Couchsurfing, Tony served at VP and GM for MTV Networks, where he was responsible for social mobile across MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. Tony developed his product management expertise at Apple, before moving into various VP roles at When.com (co-founder), AOL and Kontiki before becoming CEO of SuperSecret.com (acquired by Knowledge Adventure).
When not at work or spending time with his family, Tony’s passion is music; as founder and CEO of SF Soundworks, he has recorded and mixed over 800 songs with a variety of well-known artists.
