Ping Identity Releases PingFederate Update and New Integration Kits for Windows IWA, Salesforce.com and WebLogic
PingFederate 4.2 Enhancements Target Enterprise-Scale Usage, Security and Privacy
Ping Identity Corporation today announced PingFederate 4.2, the latest version of its federated identity management system, is now available for download from its Web site,
http://www.pingidentity.com. The company also announced immediate availability of new PingFederate Integration Kits for WebLogic and Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA), as well as an updated Integration Kit for Salesforce.com.
Award-winning PingFederate is a standalone identity federation server with multi-protocol capabilities for SAML 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 and WS-Federation single sign-on. PingFederate can be downloaded directly from Ping Identity at www.pingidentity.com. PingFederate is certified Liberty Alliance SAML 2.0 interoperable and GSA E-Authentication compliant. PingFederate 4.2 includes enhanced administration, configuration and integration functionality that supports enterprise-class use cases while also increasing security and privacy.
Highlights of new features include:
* Enhanced Logging – Transaction logging now supports multiple modes of verbosity that are configurable on a partner-by-partner basis
* Attribute Masking – Identity attributes marked as sensitive are now concealed in system log files, ensuring end user privacy when logs are archived or used for troubleshooting
* Distinct Administrative Console Port – Administrative consoles can now be given distinct port numbers, facilitating more flexible and secure deployments of PingFederate
* Filtering on Connection Management Screens – New display filtering options on the connection management summary screens allow administrators to more easily view and manage large numbers of identity federation connections
* Adapter SDK File Download Functionality – File download functionality in custom adapters now integrates seamlessly with the PingFederate admin console, simplifying configuration and integration
* Improved Proxy Support – Administrators can now add PingFederate behind an existing reverse proxy.
New Integration Kits
PingFederate Integration Kits deliver out-of-the-box first- and last-mile integration of sessions with existing applications or identity/Web access management systems. Said another way, they act as bridges between proprietary single sign-on mechanisms and standards-based SAML and WS-Federation single sign-on. New additions and updates to the PingFederate suite of Integration Kits include:
* The new Windows IWA Integration Kit, which leverages a Kerberos ticket generated from a user’s authentication into a Windows domain using IWA to provide SAML-based single sign-on to applications running in other security domains
* The new WebLogic Integration Kit, which allows Java applications to act as Service Providers without having to install an Integration Kit in each application
* The updated Salesforce.com Integration Kit, which now supports clustered PingFederate installations
