Beech-Nut Reconfirms its Commitment to Families with a Three-Year Upromise Renewal; Hefty® OneZip Joins Upromise, Providing a New Savings Opportunity

Newton, MA – April 30, 2007

Today, on its fifth anniversary as a national program in the grocery and drug channel, Upromise, Inc. announced that Beech-Nut, a partner since 2003, has extended its partnership with Upromise for three years.  Upromise continues to add new partners to give families additional opportunities to save for college and, on May 31st, Hefty® OneZip will join Upromise, bringing its more than 7.5 million members a new college savings opportunity on an everyday essential.

“Upromise is a trusted authority in helping to make the dream of achieving higher education a reality,” said David Rochon, president, Upromise.  “In the past five years we have helped families save millions of dollars by shopping for everyday items from many of America ’s top brands at their local grocery and drug stores.”

Today more than 23,000 supermarkets and drug stores across the country participate in Upromise to help consumers start saving for college.  To benefit from Upromise savings opportunities, consumers register their participating grocery and drug cards at Upromise.com, and present their registered cards when they purchase participating products. Rewards range from one to five percent on more than 6,500 consumer packaged goods products.

Upromise is a free service designed to help families save for college. Consumers simply sign up for membership on www.upromise.com and begin saving when making purchases from any of the thousands of partners participating in the Upromise program.  Upromise also helps families learn how to invest  and grow the money they’ve saved by transferring it directly into a 529 college savings plan.
