Impress for GIS to Integrate SAP with ESRI and Miner & Miner

Waltham, MA – April 9, 2007

Impress Software today announced that Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has chosen its Impress for GIS packaged integration application as part of a strategic Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) initiative. Impress for GIS was selected to synchronize PG&E’s asset data in SAP with geo-data in its ESRI and Miner & Miner geographic information systems (GIS). Once the implementation is completed, PG&E expects to have approximately 10,000 users leveraging Impress for GIS.

PG&E is one of the largest combined natural gas and electric utilities in the United States. The company, a subsidiary of PG&E Corporation, serves approximately 15 million people throughout a 70,000-square-mile service area in northern and central California.

Accenture was an advisor to PG&E in its purchase of Impress for GIS and will lead the implementation.

About Impress for GIS
Impress for GIS is a packaged integration application optimized for bridging SAP with ESRI’s ArcGIS and Miner & Miner’s ArcFM. It automatically links SAP assets with GIS features and maintains asset consistency at all times, dramatically reducing data administration costs while ensuring asset data accuracy. With Impress for GIS, users can create work orders and notifications, update status information, and assign orders to features on a map. In addition, they can analyze SAP work order information with a ‘point-and-click’ search using multiple user-defined criteria. This information can be rendered on the map and color-coded for spatial analysis and at-a-glance viewing to improve decision-making. Leveraging Impress for GIS, organizations like PG&E can generate significant EAM improvements by combining the strengths of GIS and SAP PM.
