Wealth Management Firm Glenmede Implements Imprivata OneSign For Single Sign-On and Network Authentication

Users Across Five Cities Use OneSign to Speed and Enhance Service to High Net Worth Clients while Demonstrating Regulatory Compliance

Lexington, MA – June 18, 2007

Imprivata®, Inc., the enterprise authentication and access management appliance company, today announced that Glenmede, an independent wealth advisory firm managing almost $19 billion in assets for approximately 1,500 client relationships, has implemented Imprivata OneSign™ Single Sign-On (SSO) and OneSign Authentication Management (AM) to provide easy and convenient access to its networks and client-service related applications, such as trading, CRM, trust accounting and portfolio management. The use of Imprivata’s technology improves password security while easing compliance efforts and reducing the time and effort the firm spends authenticating to highly secure information.

Glenmede provides comprehensive wealth management solutions for high net worth individuals and institutions, and relies on several applications that contain sensitive client data. Additionally, the firm is constantly working to meet Office of the Comptroller of the Currency guidelines and Graham Leech Bliley Act regulations that require formalized security procedures. In order to increase security and improve efficiency, the firm sought out a solution that was easy to use and administer and that supported a wide array of applications and authentication scenarios.

“Our minimum relationship entrusts us with three million dollars, and serving that level clientele demands discretion and confidence. A black mark on security or any question about privacy is more than an issue, it could mean our business. Our vigilance for these issues led us to Imprivata,” said Nicholas Voutsakis, chief technology officer for Glenmede.

“On the other hand, time is money and we can’t have staff running into access and authentication issues while servicing our clients. With OneSign SSO and OneSign AM, we are able to have the best of both worlds – greater security and end user convenience. It worked immediately. The entire company is enabled and our worries on the administration and user side are gone.”

A security policy implemented at Glenmede three years ago requires password expiration every month, time outs after a few minutes and the use of complex passwords. Over multiple applications, this has proven to be a serious drain on resources, including help desk calls, leading the IT team to begin seeking a solution that would eliminate these password management and access issues.

“Since we’ve brought in single sign-on, the feedback has been very positive,” added Voutsakis. “Because of OneSign’s flexibility to easily integrate with both proximity cards and biometrics readers we were able to implement greater security without inconveniencing our users.

Imprivata OneSign SSO is designed to quickly and effectively solve password management, security and user access issues and can work with any application—legacy, client/server or web-based. OneSign SSO has been proven to increase user productivity and satisfaction, empowering end users by offering self service password reset capabilities, dramatically lowering help desk costs resulting from forgotten passwords and assisting with regulatory compliance through strong monitoring and reporting capabilities.

Imprivata OneSign Authentication AM replaces Windows and remote access VPN passwords with a broad range of strong authentication options, including integrated management for One-Time-Password tokens, finger biometrics, smart cards and building access cards. OneSign AM provides greater security through flexible user authentication management, whether accessed through the network locally, via remote VPN, or while working offline.

“Financial services institutions are under tremendous pressure to ease workflows for both financial professionals and IT staff while the demand for more secure environments is rising,” said Omar Hussain, president and CEO of Imprivata, Inc. “Imprivata has been diligently making our solutions adaptable to any technology infrastructure and any mix of applications to provide worry-free compliance and security while making forgotten or compromised passwords a thing of the past.”
