Black Duck Software Establishes European Headquarters and Expands U.K. Presence
New Amsterdam Operations Provide Springboard to Europe for Software Governance Market Leader
Black Duck Software, the leading global provider of software governance solutions, today announced that it has established its European headquarters in Amsterdam and expanded its London operations. Coupled with Black Duck’s separate announcement today of three additional partners
(see “Black Duck Software Broadens European Reach with New Partners”), the new headquarters and personnel underscore the company’s strong commitment to serving the fast-growing European market.
Black Duck created the software governance market three years ago with the release of the protexIP™ platform for managing obligations associated with software licenses. Since that time, more than 300 enterprises have selected protexIP to help manage use of open source and other third-party software. Black Duck has grown its product family with the recent additions of transactIP™, a hosted service for vetting software code in advance of a business transaction such as funding or an acquisition, and exportIP™, which detects cryptographic algorithms in software to help comply with certain international regulations.
“The opening of Black Duck’s European headquarters and expansion of partnerships here reaffirm our commitment to providing European businesses with a platform that helps them benefit from open source technologies, while complying with license obligations,” said Douglas Levin, president and CEO of Black Duck. “We look forward to deepening existing partnerships in Europe and to developing new relationships with customers, partners and resellers alike.”
