Imprivata®, Inc., the enterprise authentication and access management appliance company, today announced that Dutch construction company van der Heijden, has selected Imprivata OneSign Authentication Management for internal and remote authentication of its employees to the company network. Van der Heijden’s employees can now more securely access architectural plans, sensitive budget and project bid information whilst in the office, whilst traveling, at home, or on a building site.

Van der Heijden purchased Imprivata’s OneSign Strong Authentication Starter Kit, a product bundle that is specifically designed to make strong authentication available for companies with up to 50 users. It includes 50 user licenses for Imprivata’s highly scalable OneSign Authentication Management solution and 50 VASCO DigiPass One Time Password (OTP) tokens, as well as deployment and management of VASCO DigiPass tokens. Imprivata reseller DHS was responsible for the implementation at van der Heijden.

Van der Heijden is a family-owned construction company with a history of more than 115 years. It operates in throughout the Netherlands and is also a “Hofleverancier”, an honour bestowed by the Dutch Royal family for being in business for more than a hundred years. Van der Heijden has some 90 employees, some 40 of whom often need access to centralized IT systems whilst at construction sites. Most of van der Heijden’s business is generated via public and private tenders and the company needed a simple means to ensure the protection of sensitive information, for example budgets and drawings in the highly competitive construction market.

OneSign Authentication Management is an appliance-based solution that increases network securityby replacing Windows passwords with a range of strong authentication options.It simplifies the cost and complexity of network authentication management by replacing network passwords with two-factor, strong authentication, regardless of whether users are online and connecting to the corporate network, or offline and logging onto their laptop.

Van der Heijden’s ‘preferred IT supplier’ DHS opted for Imprivata OneSign Authentication Management to meet the construction company’s needs. The choice was based on Imprivata’s ability to easily integrate strong authentication into the mobile networks used at the construction sites, and into the LAN at headquarters. Thanks to its appliance-based approach, OneSign Authentication Management easily linked users from their Microsoft Active Directory, without scripting or making any changes to the directory. After seeing a demonstration at the DHS offices, Van der Heijden was immediately convinced of the strength of the solution.
