Upromise Reaches Record 8 Million Members; Introduces Comprehensive Redesigned Website to Help Americans at All Life Stages to Earn Rewards, Save, Plan and Pay for College

Three Leading Brands Sign or Extend Upromise Partnership Agreements to Provide New Ways for Consumers to Earn College Savings

Newton, MA – July 18, 2007

Upromise, Inc. today announced that it has reached a record 8 million members and has unveiled a redesigned website helping consumers at all life stages achieve the goal of higher education for themselves, a family member or a close friend. New site features include an easy to use design and new content created and categorized specifically for parents, students, family and friends that addresses topics encompassing earning rewards, saving money, planning and paying for education. Upromise also announced that its members will have even more added savings from three leading brands including Bed Bath & Beyond, GNC and eBay.

"As college costs continue to rise at twice the rate of inflation, Upromise now provides the most comprehensive online resource to help students and their families learn how to earn monetary rewards, save, plan and pay for higher education," said David Rochon, president, Upromise. "Our new website has significantly expanded to include content relevant to all life stages, from parents of young children, to recent college graduates paying down student loans, to grandparents who want to help with their grandchildren's education."

Upromise has completely redesigned both the visitor and member experiences on Upromise.com, making it easier to use and more content-rich. It features a new resource center that covers topics ranging from calculating college costs, to tips for preparing, earning rewards, saving and paying for college. The member version of the site also features a new "my homepage" where members can view recent transactions and a summary of their rewards. The new "close to home" section directs members to restaurants and stores in their neighborhood (or any zip code to which they may travel) that will contribute to their college savings. Upromise has also enhanced navigation, giving members an improved and customized shopping experience that provides a quick way to find partners and other information that is relevant to them.

Upromise continues to work with the country's top household brands to champion higher education. Bed Bath & Beyond, a partner since 2002, has renewed its partnership with Upromise providing one percent savings on all purchases at its more than 800 stores or online at bedbathandbeyond.com. GNC, the largest global specialty retailer of nutritional products has also renewed its commitment to helping families save for college by providing rewards of one percent in-store and eight percent on GNC.com via the Upromise Online Mall. GNC offers an additional discount of 20 percent on purchases made by GNC Gold Card Members. And now, when members shop eBay through the Upromise Online Mall at www.upromise.com , they can earn one percent towards college.

In addition to helping families save for college, Upromise also helps families learn how to invest and grow the money they have saved by transferring it directly into a 529 college savings plan. Upromise Investments is the largest administrator of direct-to-consumer 529 college savings plans, administering nearly 1.3 million college savings accounts and more than $17 billion in assets through partnerships with nine states.
