Cargill Pork Joins Cargill Beef with a 5-Year Commitment to SignalDemand for Pricing and Profitability Management Software

San Francisco, CA – September 17, 2007

SignalDemand, the leader in pricing and profitability management software solutions for process manufacturers, today announced that Cargill Pork, a division of Cargill Meat Solutions and the global food manufacturer Cargill, has selected its Price and Response 3.0™ solution. This selection represents an expansion of Cargill Meat Solution's long-term relationship with SignalDemand, as well as Cargill's further commitment to extending science and optimization-based pricing into other areas of their business.

SignalDemand delivers patent-pending software solutions and advisory services that help process manufacturers determine optimal margins, prices and product mix while aligning production capacity to accelerate revenues, profit and market share growth.

Cargill Pork has selected SignalDemand to guide them in the complex process of pricing in the highly competitive short-, mid-, and long-term markets in which they compete. SignalDemand's Price and Response 3.0™ solution will allow them to see how pricing decisions on every SKU in their business impact revenue and customer demand.

“Based on the strong success at Cargill Beef, we are excited to bring SignalDemand's pricing and mix capabilities to our pork business,” said Dirk Jones, President, Cargill Pork. “Given the increasingly dynamic nature of our business, the SignalDemand solution presents an opportunity for us to better partner with our customers by providing fair and accurate pricing for all our pork products. And, by institutionalizing the pricing process, we are able to reduce volatility in our business and simplify price discovery with our customers.”

SignalDemand solutions will work in concert with the team of pricing experts at Cargill Pork. Users are able to view optimized price ranges for every SKU, every day—derived from advanced algorithms and demand and supply modeling—while still having the flexibility to incorporate experience and relationships into final pricing decisions.

“We are thrilled that Cargill has once again selected SignalDemand software and services,” said Michael Neal, CEO and founder of SignalDemand. “Cargill has a reputation as one of the most innovative and successful companies in the global food industry, and we are delighted they have decided to expand our partnership by deploying SignalDemand into new businesses. Cargill's success demonstrates how applying rigor and science to process manufacturer pricing can enable significant returns in even the most competitive margin environments. We are eager to generate similar results for Cargill Pork.”
