McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus Adds Support for Firefox, AOL Instant Messenger and AOL Mail

Santa Clara, CA – December 19, 2006

McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) today announced that McAfee® SiteAdvisorTM  Plus, the first Web safety tool to actively shield consumers' computers from dangerous Web sites encountered when browsing, searching, instant messaging or e-mailing, now supports Firefox, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), and AOL mail.

McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus, which launched last month, takes McAfee SiteAdvisor from a helpful guide to an active enforcer of SiteAdvisor's safety ratings. The new "Protected Mode" prevents consumers from browsing to risky sites. "Link Checker" extends McAfee SiteAdvisor's ratings by checking links in e-mail and instant messages. McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus also includes adding advanced phishing site detection. Consumers may use McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus to complement their existing McAfee products, with non-McAfee security products, or as a stand-alone solution.

With this announcement, McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus now supports both Internet Explorer and Firefox, the two most popular Web browsers, as well as a broad range of instant messaging and e-mail platforms including AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo! Messenger (Y!M), Windows Live Messenger (MSM), Google Talk, Outlook, Outlook Express, Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, Microsoft Live Mail (Hotmail) and Gmail.

"McAfee SiteAdvisor gives online consumers more than 285 million individual site ratings every day," said Mark Maxwell, Senior Product Manager, McAfee. "Adding support for AIM, AOL Mail and Firefox to SiteAdvisor Plus extends the premium product's reach to users of these popular e-mail, instant messaging and browser applications."

McAfee SiteAdvisor's pioneering safe search technology protects Internet users from adware, spam, viruses and other online dangers. SiteAdvisor's software adds intuitive red, yellow, or green ratings to sites and search results based on proprietary tests of more than 95% of the trafficked Web. SiteAdvisor's groundbreaking software has already been downloaded more than 10 million times and is available at http://us.mcafee.com.
