While noting that one endorser used his company’s software as part of “every deal they do,” the Mass Technology Leadership Council honored Black Duck Founder and Chief Executive Officer Douglas Levin as CEO of the Year at the organization’s annual award ceremony, held October 18 in Boston. Thirty New England technology executives, consultants and reporters volunteering as part of the award ceremony’s nominations and selections committees chose Mr. Levin from a large field and an exclusive group of six finalists.

In selecting Mr. Levin, the award presenter noted that Black Duck had grown better than 1500-percent in the last two years (for the period ended earlier this year). She also reviewed the company’s success helping customers manage the licensing and other requirements related to composite software development. Mr. Levin founded Black Duck in 2002 and has been its CEO since inception.

“While this is labeled as a personal honor, it actually demonstrates the hard work of the entire Black Duck team in delivering the best possible products and service to our customers,” said Levin. “The award results from our company’s commitment to realizing the vision of composite software development within enterprises and among a growing community of software developers.
