Reveal Imaging Technologies Receives TSA Order for New Security Checkpoint Technology

Reveal Imaging Receives Contract With Maximum Potential Value of $80.5M for Fusion™ Checkpoint Explosive Detection System

Bedford, MA – October 22, 2007

Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc., a developer of advanced security inspection systems, announced today that it has received a $5.6M delivery order from the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for its new Fusion automated explosives detection systems (Auto-EDS) for airport carry-on baggage.  The order is part of a broader Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract for up to 40 systems over two years and field support services over five years at a combined potential value of $40.5M, with a potential additional $40M for further engineering services over five years, for a combined maximum potential contract value of $80.5M.

Michael Ellenbogen, president and CEO of Reveal Imaging Technologies, said, “Reveal is honored to have been selected as a TSA partner under their checkpoint “Auto-EDS” program.  This award demonstrates that Reveal’s products will continue to be part of TSA’s ongoing effort to improve security and the passenger experience at US airports.  The Fusion system builds on Reveal’s experience in real world security operations and brings a new level of detection and imaging capability for airport carry-on baggage.”

Fusion is an advanced checkpoint system that combines computed tomography for material discrimination and automated explosives detection with high-resolution 2D and 3D imaging to scan for weapons and other prohibited items.  Fusion was developed in partnership with TSA to provide the agency with information that will allow their workforce to more effectively and efficiently screen carry-on items through the checkpoint.

Fusion retains that same compact design and low installation cost as Reveal’s CT-80 EDS for checked bags, which TSA certified and currently is in use at over 50 US airports. Fusion’s automated bin return system delivers empty bins back to the front of the checkpoint for the next passengers, saving both time and labor. Fusion is fully compatible with Reveal’s ImageNet multiplexing architecture which allows security officers to be located at the scanner or centralized to improve flow and eliminate passenger congestion at the end of the checkpoint.

About Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc.
The Reveal CT-80 was certified in 2004 by TSA and deployed to U.S. airports to meet TSA standards to automatically inspect 100% of checked bags for explosives.

The Reveal CT-80 platform, with breakthrough dual-energy Computed Tomography (CT) technology that also shrinks the size, cost and weight of the system, is moving forward in meeting the operational needs of airports and other facilities worldwide. Reveal’s product line is expanding to meet the fast paced, dynamic environment of the passenger-screening checkpoint. This same high-speed platform accommodates checked baggage, parcels, and air cargo.

Headquartered in Bedford, MA, privately held Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc. is one of only three companies to successfully pass the TSA’s certification process for automated explosive detection systems (EDS).
