Vette Corp Forms Datacom Facilities Division, Focusing On Liquid Cooling Solutions For High-Density Data Center And Telecommunications Systems

Extends Market Leadership With Product Offerings For Data Center Cooling

Manchester, NH – December 6, 2007

Vette Corp (Vette), a leading global provider of thermal management solutions, announces a new division focused on liquid cooling for communications services facilities and data center cooling, including high-density server, storage, and telecommunications equipment deployments. Vette's Datacom Facilities Division leverages the company's position as the leading manufacturer and global supplier of total thermal solutions for IT equipment, computer systems, and industrial electronics OEMs. The recently formed division will utilize Vette's extensive manufacturing, engineering and supply chain logistics resources to provide liquid cooling solutions to communications services facilities and data centers.

According to Vette's President and CEO George Dannecker, "The formation of our datacom facilities division in June of this year resulted from our ongoing focus on thermal challenges that our OEM customers are now experiencing in facilities where their equipment has been installed. Data center cooling for high-density data processing equipment has become increasingly complex and expensive. Highly reliable, effective and efficient liquid cooling solutions will replace traditional cooling methods to solve the thermal management needs of our clients."

"As the heat density of rack-mounted equipment increases, we see system-level and spot-cooling solutions starting to migrate into one completely integrated solution for server cooling, utilizing liquid cooling. The datacom facilities division will initially focus on server cooling and data center cooling solutions in high-density equipment installations," Dannecker concluded.

Demand for Power and Cooling Efficiency Grows as Energy Costs Rise
The management of heat generated by high-density loads is an increasing challenge for facilities with rack-mounted servers and communications equipment. Today a typical blade server rack will generate approximately 12,000 to 30,000 watts of heat in a 7 to 8-square foot enclosure. Current estimates show that up to 63 percent of all data center power consumed is devoted to data center cooling.

These increased levels of heat are causing problems for both datacom facility managers and designers. In addition to potentially damaging equipment, excessive heat dissipated into the data center often results in costly downtime.
