Eons™ Introduces Version 2.0 of Its Social Network for Boomers: Get Ready to BOOM Your Life!

Pioneer in Boomer Social Networking Evolves Platform to Let Members Connect Like Never Before

Charlestown Navy Yard, Boston – February 13, 2008

Eons, Inc. today unveiled Version 2.0 of its social network and online community for “BOOMers” with a beta release at www.beta.eons.com. The new site makes it easier than ever for eons.com members—whether they are social networking veterans or new to the community experience—to explore their passions, keep in touch with friends, connect with interesting people to share life experiences, and most of all, have fun.

As the company that first introduced social networking specifically for boomers, Eons launched its spirited brand that celebrates “life on the flip side” in July 2006, primarily as a portal catering to adults 50+ offering content, experts and limited community and social networking features. Over time, eons.com has grown to more than 700,000 members whose intense desire to connect with their peers has come to dominate activity on the site, with 70 percent of time being spent on social networking features. In this next version, eons.com brings to the forefront enhanced features which now reflect the site’s full commitment to social networking for “BOOMers”—spirited adults who want to learn and do more to make the most of this exciting life stage.

“We are following our members who have told us loud and clear that what they really want is a community that lets them stay in touch with their friends, rekindle old relationships, and create new connections with like-minded adults who share their passions and experiences,” said Eons Founder and CEO Jeff Taylor. “Our new design and functionality reflects the deep knowledge base we’ve developed over the past 18 months. We are delivering community features that matter to our members in a way that we know works best for the boomer audience.”

Social Networking Specifically for Boomers

Eons.com’s enhanced features and community functionality make it easier than ever for spirited boomers to build a Profile, participate in Groups, and engage in popular community features. A new search engine lets members find friends and make connections with boomer peers who share their passions. From books to perennial gardening, from travel to politics, eons.com members are tapping into the wealth of knowledge others have to share in more than 3,100 (and growing) Groups.

Boomers with varied backgrounds and life experiences are making their home on eons.com. Experts who address topics of interest to boomers are joining the community and fueling lively discussion. Renowned longevity expert, Dr. Tom Perls, moderates the Living to 100 Group, where members discuss tips on how to add years to their lives after taking the Longevity Calculator found on eons.com. Dr. Perls is a physician and researcher in the study of aging at Boston University Medical School and for the past twelve years has directed the New England Centenarian Study.

Rudy Maxa, “The Savvy Traveler” and contributing editor with National Geographic Traveler magazine, moderates the Rudy’s Savvy Travel Group, where members share tips about their favorite vacations, travel Web sites and how to get the best deals.

Boomer celebrities, such as Jane Seymour, as well as all of the 2008 Presidential candidates are connecting with their fellow boomers on eons.com to share their life dreams and experiences. Additionally, many authors have created Groups and are blogging on eons.com to connect with their boomer fans about new books and events. Best-selling author and social observer Sara Davidson, author of LEAP! What Will We do with the Rest of our Lives?, joined eons.com to discuss lessons from her book and to blog about her insights from life on the flip side.
