Vette Corp Unveils Coolant Distribution Unit for Data Center Liquid Cooling at AFCOM Data Center World Conference

CDU Enables Intelligent Control For Liquid Cooling Of Up To Ten Equipment Racks

Manchester, NH – April 1, 2008

Vette Corp (Vette), a leading global provider of thermal management solutions, introduced a series of LiquiCool™ Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) for its family of data center cooling solutions at the Association For Computer Operations Management's (AFCOM) Data Center World conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Data center professionals from around the world are meeting at Data Center World to address key industry issues including data center greening, thermal management, energy use optimization and carbon footprint reduction.

The CDU supports a number of critical functions for liquid cooled rack-mounted equipment. In a liquid-cooled system, the building chilled-water supply should not be a direct source of cooling for the IT racks. Instead, a CDU should be deployed to create an isolated secondary cooling loop that is separated from the building primary chilled water supply. The secondary cooling loop is easily controlled to stay above the room dew-point, preventing condensation. The CDU secondary cooling loop also contains just a few gallons of water, thereby reducing exposure within the whitespace by an order of magnitude over conventional liquid cooling solutions.

According to Vette Corp Datacom Facilities Manager Joe Capes, "Liquid cooling solutions can dramatically reduce data center cooling energy costs and improve floor space utilization. Vette's Coolant Distribution Units are an important component of our LiquiCool data center cooling solutions and provide intelligent management control for up to ten racks of equipment," Capes concluded. Vette Corp is displaying a LiquiCool Coolant Distribution Unit at booth #661 within the exhibition area at the Las Vegas Convention Center on April 1-2, 2008.
