ITA Software Announces Boston’s IT Battle of the Bands

Band Bash for Massachusetts’ High Tech Community Accepting Band Submissions Now Through June 2

May 1, 2006

CAMBRIDGE, MA - May 1, 2006 - ITA Software, a fast-growing, technology company founded by computer scientists from MIT, announced today that it is holding Boston’s First IT Band Bash on Monday, June 26 at the Middle East Downstairs at 472/480 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge beginning at 8:00 p.m. Inspired by the many talented musicians working at the company, ITA Software created this event to bring together others in the high technology community with similar interests for a night of good music and good fun.

Starting today, ITA Software will begin accepting band submissions of any musical genre online at www.itabattleofthebands.com To be considered for participation, each band must have at least one member who is currently employed full time at a Massachusetts-based technology company. All bands are required to submit a band roster, photo, genre and demo which includes two original songs and one cover. Bands must register by Friday, June 2, 2006 to be considered and will be notified by June 9, 2006 if they have been selected to participate.

“A number of people at ITA Software play in local bands. We enjoy listening to them at our company parties, and we thought it might be fun to get together with other local tech companies and their bands,” said Jeremy Wertheimer, president and CEO of ITA Software.

Once selected to participate, each band will be assigned a time slot to perform and be given free tickets to the event for friends and co-workers. Winners will be selected by panel of distinguished judges including Dave Wildman, arts editor of Weekly Dig, music-writer Glenn McDonald and Russell Ferrante, Grammy-winning member of the Yellowjackets. Sponsors of the event include Mass High Tech, fama PR and Middle East. Prizes for winners will be announced closer to the event date.
