JumpTap Unveils Carrier-Centric Mobile Search Solution

Breakthrough mobile search solution empowers carriers to tap into new advertising revenue streams and turn the web into their walled garden

Cambridge, MA - September 26, 2005 - Breaking new ground in the emerging mobile search market, JumpTap, Inc., today launched a hosted, white-labeled mobile search solution which enables wireless carriers to tap into significant new revenue streams from third parties, such as advertisers and content providers, while increasing subscriber satisfaction. JumpTap's fresh user interface and mobile-specific search engine are coupled with a keyword sales program that links subscribers, carriers and advertisers at the point of purchase decision. By placing a carrier-branded search box on the mobile device, carriers can insulate themselves from competitive threats from large Internet search providers while providing their subscribers with a powerful mobile search experience.

JumpTap's quick, easy and fun user interface and mobile-specific search engine enable wireless carriers to increase the speed and relevance of mobile searches conducted by subscribers, capturing advertising revenue from user-selected sponsored links. By turning the web into the carriers' walled garden, JumpTap's mobile search solution lets subscribers quickly find information that is most relevant to their searches, from carrier-approved content to out-of-garden content. JumpTap ensures that content made available to the subscriber is properly formatted for the subscribers' phone, further enhancing the overall mobile search experience.

According to research conducted by Piper Jaffray, global search revenues are projected to generate $5.5B in 2005 and $11B by 2008. With the dramatic increase in mobile phone use and the advancements in technology, it is expected that mobile search revenues will ultimately surpass those of Internet search. Intuitive User Interface Available in WAP or as a Java or Brew application, JumpTap's carrier-branded user interface is intuitive for mobile phones. Designed for speed and ease-of-use, it features simple query entry, quick navigation and precise use of limited mobile device screen space. The user interface uses suggestions to speed query entries, ultimately reducing clicks-to-content.

Search Engine Designed for Mobile The search engine provides the most accurate, relevant results for mobile content, aggregating a wide variety of carrier-approved content from within the walled garden and carrier WAP portal, as well as out-of-garden content from WAP sites and web sites.
