Kayak.com, a leading online travel search engine, today launched a promotion that asks travelers to share their idea of "Virgin Territory" for a chance to win a free trip to London. The promotion supports the recent launch of Kayak Trip Ideas, a community-based forum that encourages users to create and share travel destination "wish lists" with other travelers. Two winners, chosen at random, will enjoy a smashing good time in London with a 4-night stay at the hip St Martins Lane hotel and round-trip airfare for two on Virgin Atlantic Airways, where your trip begins before you leave the ground. In true Virgin style, movies and cocktails are always on the house.
To enter, consumers should visit the Buzz section of Kayak.com to create a Trip Idea with a minimum of three destinations. A Trip Idea can be a personal travel destination wish list or a few places to consider for an upcoming family reunion. Consumers who send their Trip Idea to friends receive an additional entry for every friend and friend of a friend who also creates a Trip Idea. Two winners will be chosen at random. All entries must be submitted by May 15th, 2006.
Since launching March 2, more than 600 Trip Ideas have been contributed by Kayak.com users and leading travel authorities such as Travel Channel, Travel + Leisure, GolfDigest, About.com, Conceirge.com, and BudgetTravelOnline.com. Unlike static travel lists found on the Internet, consumers can use Trip Ideas to search for real-time fares and availability for every destination listed, which makes the leap from research to booking just a simple click away. To check fares for Trip Idea destinations, consumers simply enter a departure airport into the Kayak Buzz toolbar at the top of the page for a list of best fares found by a Kayak.com user over the past three days. Click "search now" for real-time rates and availability for preferred dates.
