If winter has you singing the blues, have we got a tune for you! Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, along with m-Qube, have launched a web-based Mobile store (http://mobilestore.sesameworkshop.org) where fans can purchase ringtones and wallpapers featuring Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar and the rest of the Sesame Street characters to personalize their cellphones.
“C is for Cookie,” “Rubber Duckie,” “People in Your Neighborhood,” “Sesame Street Theme Song,” “Elmo’s World Theme Song” and “Doin’ the Pigeon” are just a few of the 30 classic songs fans can purchase to brighten up those “Sunny Days.” The site also offers over 100 cellphone wallpapers featuring all of your favorite Sesame Street characters, classic moments from the show, your very own Letter or Number of the Day, and the local characters that appear in international co-productions of Sesame Street worldwide. New and seasonal content will be added regularly. Log onto http://mobilestore.sesameworkshop.org, where ringtones and wallpapers are available for $2.00 - $2.50. Proceeds that Sesame Workshop receives from the ringtones and wallpaper sales help fund educational programs for children around the world.
“Sesame Workshop is always looking for innovative technologies to reach Sesame Street fans of all ages,” said Jeffrey Fleishman, Assistant Vice President of Business Development for Interactive Media, Sesame Workshop. “We think this is a great way for adults to connect with the children in their life and reconnect with their own childhood.”
