Optaros and Alfresco Enter into Partnership to Provide Flexible, Scalable Enterprise Content Management Solutions

The partnership will combine Optaros´ assembly methodology and expertise to plan, architect, integrate, and implement solutions with Alfresco´s open source technologies to solve enterprise document management challenges.

Boston, MA – March 20, 2006

Optaros Inc., an open source software consulting and integration firm, today announced an alliance agreement with Alfresco, an open source alternative for enterprise content management. The partnership will combine Optaros´ assembly methodology and expertise to plan, architect, integrate, and implement solutions with Alfresco’s open source technologies to solve enterprise document management challenges.

The partnership symbolizes the intersection of two technology trends: the continued growth in adoption of open source software and the emergence of enterprise content management solutions. In recent research conducted by Optaros, 54% of respondents indicated that content management and portals is a challenge for which they will evaluate open source solutions through 2008.

“As our research confirms, enterprise content management is a common challenge for many enterprises and open source software is an ideal solution since a key requirement is extendibility and scalability,” said Brian Otis, Optaros’ vice president of sales and business development. “Alfresco´s product itself contains other leading open source components. It is well suited to be integrated with a client’s existing systems or with components to build a tight-fit solution.”

“Open Source has gained a strong momentum across the world starting at the operating system level with Linux and moving through to the RDBMS with MySQL and to the Application Server with JBoss,” said Dr. Ian Howells, CMO, Alfresco. “Optaros has the experience to plan, build and deliver solid enterprise content management processes in this new ecosystem.”

In addition to sharing information to serve client needs, Optaros and Alfresco will plan activities in the U.S. and Europe to provide information to organizations looking to learn more about open source and content management solutions. In addition to a session held in Zurich, Switzerland in early March, a session will be conducted in Geneva, Switzerland on March 30.
