Toronto and Los Angeles – September 12, 2006

QuickPlay Media Inc., a leading provider of personalized mobile media experiences, announced today the first round of media partners for its QuickPlayer for BlackBerry® application at the CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment Conference. The QuickPlayer for BlackBerry is the first application to deliver streamed audiocasts to BlackBerry devices. QuickPlayer for BlackBerry users have easy access to business and finance updates, as well as news, entertainment and health and sports information.

The QuickPlayer for BlackBerry is now available to telecommunications carriers internationally. The player provides streamed audiocasts (similar to podcasts), of approximately five minutes, from top-tier media companies and providers including: ABC News, AccuWeather.com, Clear Channel, Gaiam,MarketWatch.com, The Wall Street Journal and Westwood One.

“QuickPlay Media has lined up a solid mix of targeted media content for BlackBerry users,” said Jeff McDowell, Vice President, Alliances, Research In Motion. “Streaming audio services complement other BlackBerry applications and provide another convenient and valuable source of information for mobile users.”

QuickPlay Media developed the player by combining proprietary streaming technology with advanced audio codecs natively supported in the BlackBerry 8700 Series™, BlackBerry Pearl™ and BlackBerry 7130 Series™ devices from Research In Motion® (Nasdaq: RIMM). The result — high-quality audio files that require no downloading time.

“Our proprietary streaming technology minimizes bandwidth usage and allows audio files to launch immediately,” said Raja Khanna, chief creative officer and co-founder of QuickPlay Media. “This is the first audio service for the BlackBerry, and delivers on our goal of powering the next generation of mobile media.”

The QuickPlayer for BlackBerry was created by QuickPlay Media. QuickPlay Media manages all aspects of the mobile media service including content management, subscription management, content delivery, and billing integration. Content can be aggregated by QuickPlay or by carriers themselves. This mobile media service is powered by the QuickPlay Personal Entertainment Server.
