Scarborough, ME, March 22, 2006 - Hannaford Supermarkets announced today its participation in Upromise, a free service that is helping millions of families earn money back for college when they purchase hundreds of participating products. Now they can earn money back for college while shopping at any Hannaford Supermarket.
"Customers can pick up a Hannaford Upromise key tag at any Hannaford store. To join, customers visit www.hannaford.com/upromise to enroll and register their key tag. Once registered, each time the customer shops at Hannaford and purchases participating products, the cashier will scan their key tag to have the eligible contributions automatically added to their Upromise account," said Caren Epstein, Hannaford spokesperson.
"Customers enrolling a Hannaford Upromise key tag in their Upromise account by April 30, 2006 will be entered to win one of three $5,000 Upromise Scholarships deposited directly into winners' Upromise accounts," she said. "Upromise is free to join and an easy way to save money for college."
Grandparents, parents, extended family and friends can help put money toward college through contributing to a Upromise account. Participants can start an account for themselves, a child, an unborn child or any future college student.
It's easy to save on items that you need. To learn which products are eligible, customers can pick up a brochure at Hannaford, or log on to www.hannaford.com where they'll find a complete list of participating products.
