Vette Corp., a global provider of thermal management solutions, today named former SCI Systems CEO and Chairman A. Eugene Sapp, Jr. to its board of directors. Sapp serves on several corporate boards of directors, including Sanmina-SCI and Artesyn Technologies. Sapp was named president and COO of SCI Systems in 1981. He served as chairman and CEO of SCI Systems from July of 2000 until December of 2001 when he became co-chairman of Sanmina-SCI, a position he held until his retirement in December of 2003. From the time Sapp became president of SCI Systems in 1981 to the merger of Sanmina-SCI, SCI Systems’ revenues grew from $59 million to a run rate approaching $10.0 billion annually.

Originally from North Carolina, Sapp received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of Alabama.
