GameLogic, a Waltham, MA-based provider of new media strategies and solutions to the gaming industry and Ingenio, the research and development subsidiary of Loto-Québec, have established a licensing agreement for Ingenio's patents, thus ending their litigation over its patents.
Under an agreement reached last week, GameLogic will market its games and content platforms to the global lottery industry, under license, when applicable, from Ingenio. Terms of the settlement and license agreements are confidential. "We are happy to start a formal business relationship with GameLogic," explains Nathalie Rajotte, Director General of Ingenio. "This licensing agreement will now give State lotteries additional access to a different portfolio of interactive lottery games."
"We believe that the clarity achieved by this agreement will help GameLogic serve the growing worldwide interest among lotteries in new-media technologies and games," says John E. Taylor, Jr., GameLogic's President. "The industry is beginning to understand and invest in new media tools and techniques to drive sales and increase loyalty — especially among young adults — and we're pleased to help serve this growing demand."
