QuickPlay Media Inc. Introduces Global Mobile Multimedia Service

Proprietary streaming technology provides first audio player for BlackBerryÆ

Orlando, FL and Toronto, ON – May 16, 2006

Today, QuickPlay Media Inc. announced the availability of a global mobile media service that will enhance the BlackBerry experience. QuickPlayer for BlackBerry™ utilizes proprietary streaming technology to deliver a host of services designed specifically for the BlackBerry user. Audiocasts containing relevant up-to-date information from premium media outlets will be available within a variety of genres including: international news, business and finance, and sports highlights. The experience will include a personalized audio service with enhanced visuals.

“Unlike other audiocasts that require downloading a file to a PC and then transferring the information to a digital device, QuickPlayer for BlackBerry allows the user to tune-in an audiocast at any time of the day without having to download it ahead of time,” says Raja Khanna, co-founder and chief creative officer at QuickPlay Media Inc.

QuickPlayer for BlackBerry, QuickPlay’s first direct-to-consumer product, enables BlackBerry users to register for service, manage and customize their selections using an icon-based menu on the device. Developed specifically for the new, faster BlackBerry 8700 Series™ devices from Research In Motion (RIM®) (Nasdaq: RIMM), users can choose from a suite of free and subscription-based channels. Subscription-based services will be charged directly to the consumer.

Designed specifically for users on-the-go, audiocasts vary in duration, providing between five to ten minutes of relevant streaming content. Each audiocast will be updated in a timely manner with one or more updates occurring throughout the day.

“The QuickPlay media player and service leverage the robust capabilities of the BlackBerry 8700 Series device platform and EDGE networks to provide new, dynamic services that can be enjoyed by mobile users at their convenience,” said David Castell, Vice President, Retail Business at Research In Motion.

The QuickPlayer for BlackBerry is developed and managed by QuickPlay Media Inc. and controls all aspects of QuickPlay Media Inc.'s new mobile media service including content management, services creation, services management, delivery, and discovery. The mobile media service is enabled by QuickPlay’s Mobile Service Delivery Platform. Other QuickPlay mobile services include radio, video, and content portals. QuickPlay Media Inc. is a member of the BlackBerry ISV Alliance Program.

The QuickPlayer for BlackBerry will be available globally beginning in June to users with a BlackBerry 8700 Series handheld. Services are presently available in English. Using QuickPlay Media Inc.’s proprietary streaming technology, carriers’ bandwidth usage will be optimized. The service is ideal for BlackBerry users with unlimited data plans*.
