Press for ITA Software

ITA Software, Inc., a leading provider of innovative solutions for the travel industry, announced today that it has teamed up with the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) to be the lead sponsor for the Massachusetts Aspirations in Computing Affiliate Award (MACAA). Starting today, any female in grades 9 – 12 residing in Massachusetts can apply for this award at, which will honor young women for their IT and computing-related achievements and interests. Deadline for submissions is October 15, 2010.

The M&A market for venture-backed companies is showing signs of life in Massachusetts.  Eight VC-backed technology companies have announced exits by merger and acquisition so far in the third quarter. With the quarter half over, that puts the state on pace to double the eight deals posted for the New England region in the second quarter, and more than double the seven deals posted in last year’s third quarter.

Could ITA Software be getting a bit more consumer-oriented, now that it’s almost in Google’s clutches?
The Cambridge, Mass., company overhauled its website — its first redesign since 2007 — and added sections on Solutions for Travelers, Services and Support and ITA Labs.

Airlines and travel services organizations now have the option of including in iPad and iPod touch apps the same comparison shopping features that ITA Software makes available through its Matrix airfare search desktop application, the company says.
