Scaling a company that has the potential to shift an entire industry is no easy feat. GC’s Executives-in-Residence (XIRs) have this experience in spades. Successful entrepreneurs and executives with deep domain expertise in key technology sectors, XIRs leverage their industry knowledge and operational experience to help management teams of founder-owned businesses drive rapid growth via an active board role. Whether it’s providing customer introductions, helping with sales and business development, providing guidance on operational excellence, or closing key hires, XIRs are here ultimately to support founders in realizing the full potential of the businesses they’ve started.

We are pleased to announce that Kirk Arnold and Stephan Dietrich, who have each led enterprise technology companies through rapid growth and acquisition, are joining General Catalyst’s XIR program.

As an XIR, Kirk leverages many years of experience as a CEO to support enterprise data and application software businesses. Most recently, she was the CEO of Data Intensity, a data, applications and analytics managed service provider, and led the company through its successful acquisition last year. Previously, Kirk was CEO of Keane, Inc., a publicly held technology services company. She also had leadership roles at Avid, NerveWire, Computer Sciences Corp, Fidelity Investments, and IBM. Kirk currently serves on the boards of Ingersoll Rand and Cylance Inc. and is a lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management where she advises a number of MIT startup teams.

Stephan was co-founder and President of Neolane, a recognized leader in the digital marketing space acquired by Adobe in 2013 for $600M. As a VP and General Manager of the Adobe Campaign business, Stephan led the integration of Neolane and quadrupled its size in less than five years.

Stephan currently serves as an independent director on the boards of Vade Secure, Neotys, and Akeneo, and specializes in helping European SaaS companies land, scale, and successfully exit in the United States.

As an XIR, Stephan is focusing on combining his strategic and operational expertise to support enterprise software businesses grow and scale, and is very interested in enabling European companies to expand into North America.

We are thrilled to work with Kirk and Stephan as XIRs to support high growth companies led by exceptional management teams.
