Jonathan is the co-founder of Getty Images (NYSE: GETY), the global market leader in visual communications. He led the company as CEO for more than twenty years and currently serves on the board of directors.

Jonathan is an entrepreneur, investor, a recognized leader in the fields of global health, education and international press freedom, and the recipient of numerous media, philanthropic and corporate honors. Assisting and advising entrepreneurs and company leaders of both for-profit and nonprofit organizations at every stage of their growth is his passion.

He is proud to serve on the boards of directors, for more than a decade, of Etsy (NASDAQ: ETSY) and Squarespace (NYSE: SQSP).  Jonathan is the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Africa’s leading e-commerce company, Jumia (NYSE: JMIA).  He is the chairman of  the board of the General Catalyst portfolio company, Bloom & Wild, and has also chaired the board of a number of non-profit organizations, including Groton School and Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jonathan has spent much of his life in England, received a master’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge and now lives in New York City.
