One of the top operating executives in Silicon Valley, Lexi has spent her career building world class, mission-driven organizations that empower companies and people to grow and perform at their best. One of her guiding principles is that every human should have equitable access to information, funding, and work, in order to not only survive, but thrive.
Lexi is currently a Catalyst Advisor at General Catalyst working in the area of inclusive prosperity. She invests and advises organizations across sectors to end individual and household financial fragility. She also coaches growth companies and founders on how to scale high performance while building representative and inclusive communities.
Prior to General Catalyst, Lexi was the chief operating officer of Gusto, the people platform that enables 200,000+ American businesses to build and take care of their teams. She empowered the technology company's business teams, which included strategy, marketing, sales, customer experience, and business development. Lexi helped 10x the company’s value through expanding the customer base and product experiences while achieving a net promoter score of 70+ at all times and a workplace rated one of the best places to work across offices in San Francisco, Denver, New York and internationally.
Lexi spent her early career in microfinance as a public policy advocate with ACCION —giving loans to people living in poverty to start their own ventures. She went on to American Express, serving in their investment group and later marketing, sales, operations related to the financing of small and medium-sized businesses. She later worked at Google, starting the Cambridge AdWords team for Google's online operations group and eventually leading Google’s Global Programmatic Advertising business.
Current Faculty Member at Harvard Business School, Representative and Inclusive Leadership. Co-Founder, the Board Challenge, a movement to catalyze all boards to diversify their Director teams. Sits on the Boards of Elevate K-12, Lattice, and Altimeter Growth Corp. 2. She is a partner in the Operator Collective and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She previously served as a Director on the Boards of Gap Inc., the Taft School and Times Publishing Company.
Lexi has an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Virginia. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two daughters.
