XIR, Chairman of Rocketship Ventures, LLC Chairman and CEO, Everything But the House (EBTH)

As an XIR, Scott leverages his strategic, operational, and domain expertise to support companies that are disruptors and category creators, where brand and technology are key elements of the business model.

Currently, he is chairman of the board of General Catalyst portfolio companies Envoy Global, Inc. (fka VisaNow) and Truemotion, Inc. Scott was appointed to the role of interim CEO at Everything But the House (EBTH) in 2018. EBTH is a leading marketplace for authenticated secondhand goods.

Scott is an experienced public-company CEO, investor, founder, board chair, and advisor. Previously, he served as chairman and CEO of Zipcar, the world's leading car sharing network. During his ten-year tenure, he transformed Zipcar from a small business into a profitable public company, growing it from $2 million to nearly $300 million in revenues through organic growth and acquisitions before taking it public in 2011. In 2011, he engineered Zipcar’s initial public offering, and, in 2013, led the strategic sale of Zipcar to Avis Budget Group.

Prior to Zipcar, Scott held senior level positions at the Boeing Company (NYSE: BA), Information America, and the Parthenon Group.

He serves on the board of the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago and also serves as leadership council chairman for the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
