Brian Halligan

Brian is the Founder and CEO of HubSpot. Before that, he was a venture partner at Longworth Ventures where he worked with many small businesses helping them build scalable sales and marketing machines. Brian spent four years at Groove Networks, joining pre-revenue as VP of Sales and grew the business to a $20 million annual rate until being acquired by Microsoft. Before Groove Networks, he worked at Parametric Technology Corporation, performing a variety of sales, marketing, and channel functions for over a decade. His most interesting role at PTC was in starting the Pacific Rim organization while living in Hong Kong in 1993. Five years later, Brian was SVP of the Pacific Rim for PTC where he built an $80 million business and had 200 employees. Brian’s an EIR at MIT’s Entrepreneurship Center and serves on the board of directors of HOPe and MITX.

Brian coined the term “inbound marketing” and is author of a book entitled Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs, published by Wiley in October of 2009.

Brian is a graduate of the University of Vermont, earning a B.S.E.E., and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management, where he received an M.B.A.

Dharmesh Shah

Dharmesh is Founder and Chief Technology Officer of HubSpot, an internet marketing software company dedicated to helping small businesses leverage the Internet to get found by qualified prospects and convert more of them into leads and customers.

Prior to HubSpot, Dharmesh was founder and CEO of Pyramid Digital Solutions, an enterprise software company that was acquired by SunGard in 2005. He also runs OnStartups.com, the top blog and online community for entrepreneurs. He is an active member of the Boston area entrepreneurial community, an angel investor in over a dozen startups and a frequent speaker on the topic of entrepreneurship and Web marketing.

Dharmesh holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of Alabama and an M.S. in the Management of Technology from MIT. He is the author of the business bestseller Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs, published by Wiley in October, 2009.
