Based in San Francisco, Sharon Choe leads Internal Talent initiatives at General Catalyst, focused on learning & development, performance management, diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI), as well as serving as an HR business partner. As someone who has always been fascinated by what unlocks human potential and drives team performance, Sharon was immediately drawn to GC’s ambitious mission, values, collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, and the growth mindset instilled in its people. She looks forward to supporting the next stage of growth for the firm by strengthening our pipeline of exceptional talent and ensuring we have the capabilities to win.
Prior to joining GC, Sharon held a variety of HR leadership roles at Dropbox, including talent management, workforce planning, HR operations & technology, chief of staff, HR business partner, and DEI. Sharon started her career at Merrill Lynch in learning & development for the investment banking division. She then joined Deloitte Consulting, where she advised clients across a range of industries on their human capital and change management strategies, before transitioning into internal global HR roles at Deloitte. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to scale organizations, support transformations, drive culture change, navigate the future of work, and develop the next generation of leaders.
Sharon graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology and earned her MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. She also recently completed an executive education program with Cornell University’s Center for Advanced Human Resources Studies. Outside of work, Sharon enjoys traveling, reading, performing arts, discovering new restaurants and wineries, and spending time with her niece and nephews.
