Venture Fellows

Supporting student founders at every stage of the journey

Program Overview

At General Catalyst, we believe our ethos of responsible innovation can be fostered as early as in the college dorm room. Campuses have quickly grown into leading hubs for innovation, and student founders everywhere are taking it into their own hands to build the world they want to see. As student entrepreneurs redefine, engineer, and scale technology, we believe it is our responsibility to support them and leave the world better than we found it. And no one is better equipped to identify and support these student founders than their own peers. That’s why we’re excited to run the GC Fellowship Program – by students, for students, no matter where you study, what you study, how old you are, or how you identify.‍

How It Works

Get Started
with Grants

For aspiring student founders, we are excited to support you with our grant program. Founders in this program are supported with a starter grant and are further supported through curated community events and strategic guidance for future rounds as they build up their relationships with our investors at General Catalyst and the broader startup and Venture Capital community. It’s never too early to apply for a grant; if you’re a student who’s looking to found a company, even if you’re still finalizing your idea, we’d love to chat!

or

Raise with Equity

For student founders ready to take the next step and raise a round of capital, our GC fellows can be a fantastic first step. Existing Venture Fellows will work closely with the broader General Catalyst team to explore what you’re building and potentially build enough conviction to write you a check. If the team decides to invest, we’ll be ready to support you through our GC community.

Our Team & Fellows

None of what we do would be possible without the Student Fellows who run the GC Fellowship program. Our Fellows are hard-working, energetic, curious, humble, and bold. Many of our Fellow alumni have gone on to start their own companies and VC funds, and have gone on to work at top VC and technology companies around the world. They’re problem solvers and learners at heart.
