Ahmad Nasir
I'm a first-generation American, and my parents taught me that being American is more than a privilege—it's a responsibility. I believe the opportunities this country provides come with a duty to serve our communities and our nation.
That belief led me to serve as a Green Beret in the U.S. Army for nearly a decade, including a deployment to Syria where my team's mission was to defeat ISIS. Serving in those environments taught me to work with a team under pressure, make decisions with imperfect information, and stay focused on the mission.
Those lessons continue to shape how I partner with founders today. At General Catalyst, I focus on the company’s Global Resilience strategy, partnering with founders building in AI, defense, energy, industrials, and other mission-critical technologies.
I earned a B.S. from the United States Military Academy, an M.Phil. from the University of Oxford, a J.D. from Stanford Law School, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Outside of my venture work, I continue to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve and volunteer with several veterans organizations and initiatives.
