When I was an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, I joined the student-run Michigan Social Venture Fund based on my belief that business today is strongly positioned to drive positive societal change. It didn’t take long to realize that venture capital is one of the most exciting ways to use investing to drive outsized impact.
I started my career at Insight Partners as the firm’s first undergraduate hire onto the Onsite Strategy and Analytics team. In my dual role, I both evaluated investment opportunities and provided operational support to disruptive software and internet businesses, developing a multifaceted view of what “good” looks like, as well as the levers to pull and metrics to monitor for guiding efficient growth. In an admittedly nerdy way, I learned to admire the beauty of recurring revenue / high repeat business models.
At General Catalyst, I am thrilled to learn directly from a diverse and deep bench of both brilliant founders and seasoned investors behind some of the most exciting new brands in recent memory, and then apply those learnings to the next generation of category-defining companies. Some companies I’ve been fortunate to be involved with include Bloom & Wild, Tempo, Spinny, Hallow, and others predominantly in the consumer internet and fintech realms. As I have throughout my life, I’m excited to bring a 100% open mind to what’s possible while working with entrepreneurs, while leveraging my analytical abilities and experience studying dozens of software-driven companies.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring different ways to stay active, staying involved with my local church community, following my favorite country music artists, and delving into New York’s seemingly endless Korean BBQ scene. On the side, I’m also patiently awaiting better days for my beloved Detroit and Michigan sports teams.
