At the University of Michigan, the student-run Social Venture Fund stood out amongst a sea of more traditional Finance Organizations due to its mission of deploying capital to create powerful, positive societal impact and financial returns. I quickly realized being a venture capitalist is an incredibly rewarding privilege enabling you to work with the most ambitious people in the world to subsidize and accelerate the change in the world you want to see.
I started my career at Insight Partners as the firm’s first undergraduate hire onto the Onsite Strategy and Analytics team. In my dual role, I both evaluated investment opportunities and provided operational support to disruptive software and internet businesses, developing a multifaceted view of what “good” looks like, as well as the levers to pull and metrics to monitor for guiding efficient growth. In an admittedly nerdy way, I learned to admire the beauty of recurring revenue / high repeat business models that captivate customers with a wedge product and earn the right to build broader platforms.
At General Catalyst, I am thrilled to partner with Founders re-imagining the future of how consumers will spend their time, attention, and emotional energy across all aspects of day-to-day life. I've been fortunate to get to work with the founders at companies like Bilt Rewards, Bloom & Wild, Blank Street, and Hallow among others predominantly in consumer internet and fintech. In the past 2 years, I've also had the humbling experience of driving the incubation of a Payments Company focused on Emerging Markets through our Creation strategy.
Outside of work, catch me running (very slowly) on the west side highway, playing any sort of racquet sport, trying to evangelize country music, or delving into New York’s Korean BBQ scene. Entering the Spring of 2024, I am still riding the high of one of the best seasons in my lifetime for my beloved NATIONAL CHAMPION! Michigan Wolverines and Brand-New Detroit Lions.
