Madhu Namburi
Managing Director
Investment Team

I am a Managing Director at General Catalyst, where I co-lead General Catalyst’s dynamic Creation strategy—championing incubations, transformative ventures, and strategic buyouts. I am also actively involved in late-stage venture investing and in developing new products.
Prior to joining General Catalyst, I spent 25 years at JPMorgan, where I led Global Technology Investment Banking and served on the firm’s Investment Banking Management Committee. Over my career, I've advised on more than 1,000 transactions totaling over $1 trillion, including: Palo Alto Networks’ $25B acquisition of CyberArk, VMware’s $71B sale to Broadcom, Salesforce’s $9B acquisition of Informatica, ServiceNow’s $3B acquisition of Moveworks, Worldpay’s $18.5B sale to GTCR, Silver Lake’s $12.5B acquisition of Qualtrics.
I also led several prominent IPOs, including ZoomInfo, Zoom, HashiCorp, Confluent, Marqeta, Adyen, CrowdStrike, and Cloudflare. In addition, I led JPMorgan’s Tech Venture Investment Fund, where I chaired the Investment Committee, backing next-generation innovators in AI, data analytics, enterprise infrastructure, and disruptive business models.
I live in Hillsborough, CA, with my wife Radhika Mehra, and am the proud father of Ila (20, attending the University of Pennsylvania) and Niam (17). I also serve on the Board of the San Francisco Ballet.
