Peter Nonis
GC Institute

I serve as the Vice President of Policy Communications and Programs at the General Catalyst Institute (GCI) where I work to accelerate effective global public policies that enable the growth and scale-up of startups. This is achieved by engaging the institute with key stakeholders on solutions vital to strengthening national resilience around the world through transformative technologies.
Prior to my current role, I led marketing and communications for a leading global business council, partnering with the public and private sectors to expand international trade and commerce. My time there allowed me to work with a dynamic array of world leaders, ranging from global CEOs and sovereign wealth funds, to heads of state and broadcast journalists.
Earlier in my career, I was engaged in public affairs efforts for numerous trade associations in support of increased infrastructure investment, prioritizing safety and resilience, and boosting competitiveness, while serving as an on-the-record spokesperson on myriad policy issues.
I received my BA in Political Science from American University in Washington, DC, and reside in Fairfax, Virginia with my two daughters. When I'm not busy focused on politics and policy, you can find me at the nearest body of water fishing for whatever bites.
