As a child, my favorite part of the day was going to work with my dad and pretending to be a manager at his office. I was paid a dollar for every call I made to collect dues owed to him. I soon started doing anything creative that would make me money (like getting printouts for my older neighbors, running a used book library as a 10-year-old, letting kids borrow my Nintendo for a small cost). That early experience probably laid the foundation for my eventual career in venture capital law.
I started my legal career in Bangalore, India and National University of Singapore (I also studied for a bit in Shanghai, China), joining top-tier firms like Amarchand and AZB as a corporate attorney in India. I came across an opportunity at Sequoia Capital India (now Peak XV Partners) and worked there for over 7 years in the venture capital world as a lawyer, before moving to General Catalyst to head their legal operations in India. I absolutely love what I do—negotiating documents and helping founders navigate difficult regulatory problems.
On the personal front, I love my family, sports—Padel being my current favorite—and indie music (I make Sunday playlists on Spotify). I also played cricket at the national level for India 'A'. I'm always on the hunt for good restaurants in any new place I travel to. I have an adorable toy poodle called 'Gatsby' who is the absolute love of my life.
