I can pinpoint the exact moment in time I fell in love with technology. I was six years old and my parents brought home a borrowed 386 with a black/green screen and a copy of Prince of Persia. My first programming language was Logo, and my first "real" programming language was C. As I grew up, I always tinkered with computers, software, and later the internet. Eventually, in University I specialized in Computer Science, and ended up dropping out of grad school to come to the Bay Area, participate in Y Combinator, and start a startup in 2010. I ran that startup for about 7 years before it was acquired.
In 2014 I joined Y Combinator as a partner and spent 5 years there working with (and learning from) some of the smartest founders in the world. After YC I started my own fund, Wayfinder, where I worked hand in hand with founders from their earliest days. Through both Wayfinder and my own angel portfolio I've been fortunate to be able to invest in companies like Flexport, Supabase, Decagon, Legora, Browserbase, Vetcove, Verse Medical, and dozens others.
At General Catalyst I lead our seed strategy, partnering with founders at the earliest stages of their journey — often before they’ve even incorporated.
I graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science focusing on Computer and Software Engineering.
Outside of work I enjoy flying airplanes, sailing in the bay, and spending time with my 2 year old.
