Teresa Carlson
President, GCI
GC Institute

I am the Founding President of General Catalyst Institute, leveraging my decades of leadership as a visionary technology executive to shape effective global public policy. I work in partnership with governments to enact positive change for new and emerging technologies, focusing on accelerating national resilience at a global scale in applied AI, defense, national security, energy, health, manufacturing, finance, and other sectors.
I serve on the operating committee of General Catalyst and am a veteran executive of blue-chip companies, including Amazon, where I founded and led Worldwide Public Sector and Industries for AWS, growing it into a multibillion-dollar business. I also led large global organizations at Splunk and Flexport, where I served as President and Chief Growth Officer. Earlier in my career, I led the U.S. Federal Business at Microsoft, then returned where I served as a Corporate Vice President and Executive in Residence.
I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Commure and the Public board of PagerDuty, and am a Board Observer for Re: Build, Re: Car, Cobot, and Mark43. I also dedicate time to philanthropic roles as the Vice Chair of the White House Historical Association, Executive Committee Member of The Atlantic Council, and Board Trustee at Meridian International.
