Trevor Oelschig joins General Catalyst

We are thrilled to welcome Trevor Oelschig to the General Catalyst investment team. Trevor joins the firm as a Managing Director based on the west coast where he will focus on companies, products, and entrepreneurs in the broader application space. He arrives at General Catalyst with a history of building meaningful and successful relationships with entrepreneurs.
As we’d gotten to know Trevor through several connections in common, it quickly became apparent that we shared many of the same values, including the idea that the best entrepreneurs often come from non-obvious backgrounds. And, that it’s more important to over-index on dedicated founders who deeply understand their customer than it is to insist on a pages-long CV.
Trevor’s dedication to these ideas has proven out throughout his career. He has earned a reputation as a first-call investor who works tirelessly to help his entrepreneurs succeed.
We’ve made a deliberate effort to build a team of investors at General Catalyst that can at once be described as both balanced and eclectic. We represent a variety of professional backstories. Some of us have scaled companies to success as entrepreneurs or have led intense technical projects as engineers. Others, including Trevor, come with deep investment experience and the skills needed to help entrepreneurs build enduring companies that will go from startup to IPO and beyond.
This is all to say that Trevor makes for an incredible complement to the team here and we’re honored that he’s joined the General Catalyst family.
