Transforming Service Delivery in Insurance

Afori’s first product, the AI Sidebar, integrates directly into brokers' inboxes to transform emails and documents into structured cases and tasks. Leveraging agentic AI trained on real insurance workflows, Afori classifies requests, triggers follow-up processes, and handles automations with one click, without system switches or extensive training. The result: brokers reclaim time for advising clients and driving growth.

Our Conversation with Fabian and Sergi

We sat down with Fabian and Sergi to learn more about their vision for the future of AI-enabled insurance brokerage. This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

What insight are you building on that is obvious to you but not to others?

AI will change entire industries, but only vertical plays will be able to build true defensibility. In insurance, we’re watching an ageing workforce and talent shortage collide with systems still dependent on repetitive manual tasks. Until recently, no technology could solve this.  Agentic AI changes everything. Our decade of experience inside the industry gave us the conviction that this is the vertical where AI can create the biggest shift. 

When did you first realize this was the problem you needed to solve?

Brokers lose 60% of their time to back-office work. The tools to truly automate this didn’t exist until now. We have worked hand-in-hand with brokers to build something that speaks their language, understands their processes, and gives them back the most valuable resource of all: time with clients. 

As a founder, how do you think about perseverance and adaptation?

We first met at Wefox and worked side by side for nearly 10 years, through every high and low of an intense startup journey. That experience strengthened our partnership and taught us what perseverance really means. 

From a technical standpoint, what’s novel or fresh about how you’re building?

Afori is insurance-native from the ground up. Unlike generic AI tools, we’ve built a proprietary database (APDB), multi-memory AI agents trained on real broker use cases, and seamless integration into daily tools like Outlook, Teams, and existing broker management systems. We’ve created a platform that saves brokers an hour of back-office work per day. 

What are you looking for in partners as you scale?

Strong long-term partnerships across business partners, employees, and investors. Bringing insurance into the agentic age means meeting industry players where they are today and building the future hand-in-hand.
